When Can I Apply?

Apply as soon as possible if you meet the academic requirement and your sponsor is aware of the cost involved and can afford to support you financially to study in the UK.

Do I have to pay an application fee?

HECUK group will have to cover its administrative cost and overheads for support services provided. The Application Processing Fee gives you a full membership, and it is used in paying for the cost incurred in providing you with support services for a year, which your UCAS fee is included. Paying this fee also exempts you from paying registration fee for ISET scholarship exams. The fee excludes Visa Processing Fee (VPF), which must be paid to the British High Commission before visa guidance is offered.

Which College/University Apply to?

HECUK Group represents 4 selected quality institutions and places students in more than 20 other institutions on our recommended list, and you can also apply through us to study in any institution of your choice through our UCAS support service. HECUK is carefully selecting more institutions that provide the best quality education and support service to our international students.

Which courses can I apply for?

You can apply for any course, but science and laboratory courses are very competitive and could be very expensive choice. HECUK counselling team will always guide you in choosing the most suitable course or the alternative.

How much does it cost to study in the UK?

Studying in the UK is excellent value for money, taking into consideration the excellent teaching quality and the availability of modern and research facilities. Tuition fees for most full-time undergraduate courses can range from £6,000 to £12,000 per academic year depending on course and institution.

Full-time postgraduate courses can range from £7,000 to £25,000 per academic year. Science, laboratory, Clinical and other postgraduate programmes may be more expensive. This varies according to University.

Living costs in most of our destinations may vary depending on its location, type of accommodation preferred and personal lifestyle. Living costs can range from £4,000 to £7,000 per year. We offer tailored advice on the most cost effective locations to study.

HECUK provides a range of support services to our student’s whiles in the UK to help them minimise cost of living. You can also stay with family of friends if they live close to your chosen institution to help you cut your accommodation cost down.

Can I get a scholarship?

There are some undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships available in the UK to international students through the International Student Education Trust (ISET) and some universities. Although there are a few only a few full scholarship postgraduate levels and they are very competitive. Most scholarships are awarded to students with academic excellence or through easy competitions. See our scholarship page for more details.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

HECUK Recommends you pay a deposit to show your commitment towards furthering your education in the UK, as the British High Commission will look at that in considering your intentions for choosing the UK as your Higher Education destination. Your deposit will count as part of your tuition fee upon arrival and enrolment at your chosen institution.

Who do I pay my deposit to?

Your deposit must be made payable to your chosen institution, and its refunded to you immediately if you are unfortunate to be one of the few students to be refused a visa. HECUK will assist you in appealing against the decision if our immigration advisors are convinced you should have been issued a visa.

Can I pay my tuition fees by instalments?

Yes you can pay in instalments but the number of instalments varies with each institution. Some institution offers discounts to sponsors who pay the year tuition fee in full before enrolment at their institution.

What are my chances of getting a student visa?

Most genuine applicants who meet the academic requirements and have sponsors who can demonstrate their capability of financially supporting a student to further their education do get their visas. HECUK updates its visa information page with up to date information and its available to all applicants.

Can I defer my entry to a subsequent intake?

Yes you can but your request must be put in writing with tangible reasons. HECUK will not charge you for application processing as far as your membership is still valid.

Can I change courses when I arrive in the UK?

It is possible to change your course with your chosen institution if there are spaces available on the new course and you meet the entry requirement, but it is very unlikely you can change institutions within your first year. You will have to inform HECUK and your chosen institution in advance with a tangible reason if you intend to take such an action.
